Sadly, we’ll have to wait for that unlimited, fried experience.

Last week, we got excited when we heard news of “McDonald’s of the Future” innovations being tested out at a location in St. Joseph, Missouri, including an all-you-can-eat French fries concept that would soon expand nationwide. Sadly, McDonald’s is denying these reports.

McDonald’s spokesperson Lisa McComb told NOLA that indeed the new 6,500-square foot McLocation will test out some upcoming features for McDonald’s customers, including new digital kiosks and burger and dessert customization options. However, the unlimited French fry dream of ours? It’s apparently only being used as a promotional deal specifically for the Missouri location, and you won’t see it anytime soon at your local McDonald’s.

"To celebrate its grand opening, the restaurant is offering all-you-can-eat fries for a limited promotion as a great shareable menu item for our customers," Lisa McComb of McDonald's said.

This new location does sound pretty unique though: With table service, videogames, and a lounge with couches and armchairs, we might expect to see some of these feature popping up at other Golden Arches sometime soon.

McDonald's Is Testing All-You-Can-Eat, Bottomless French Fries

If you’ve ever reached the bottom of a carton of McDonald’s fries and thought, I could probably eat 25 more of these, you may soon have a chance to prove it.

One of the fast food chain’s newest locations in St. Joseph, Missouri, is testing out unlimited french fries, a concept that seems long overdue. No word on what the cost will be yet, but we’re talking all-you-can-eat here, so you can always ensure you get your money’s worth.

In addition to this brilliant revelation, the restaurant will have kiosks inside where you can customize your order like never before. “There really are hundreds of different choices to build the burger of your dreams,” owner Chris Habiger told the St. Joseph News Press. “Once you’ve placed your order, you can find your seat because we’ll bring it out to you.”

The news comes as McDonald’s has continued to make vast changes in an effort to boost sales, such as launching the much celebrated all-day breakfast and testing out gourmet burger options.

While there haven’t been any announced plans to expand the unlimited fried spuds concept, if it’s a success, we could very well see it at more locations across the country. So go forth and eat fries, citizens of St. Joseph. Our future is in your hands.

UPDATE: Sadly, it’s been confirmed that this promotion is only for a limited time at this specific location, so no unlimited fries unless you find yourself in St. Joseph.
