tablespoons fresh blueberries
tablespoon fresh lemon juice
cup ginger ale or lemon-lime soda
Lemon wedges, blueberries on a beverage pick, fresh mint, if desired
In a highball glass, muddle blueberries, lemon juice and mint.
Fill glass to rim with ice cubes. Add gin. Top with ginger ale; stir gently.
- What does muddle mean? When mixing cocktails, herbs and/or fruit are often mashed or ground--muddled--in the bottom of a glass before adding the liquid ingredients to intensify their flavors. You can muddle with a spoon or a pestle-like tool called a muddler.
- Nonalcoholic Version: Omit gin. Increase ginger ale to 2/3 cup.
