Eight different appliances come in the fiery new shade.
KitchenAid is going all out for their 100-Year anniversary. In September, they released a limited-edition stand mixer in a gorgeous, retro-inspired Misty Blue to celebrate, and now they’ve just done it again. Except instead of the nostalgic blue, they went to the other end of the color spectrum with forward-looking lipstick, fire-engine, lifeguard-bathing-suit red! And I, for one, am officially obsessed.

A press release said the bold red color embodies “the energy, strength, and shared passion for creating possibility in the kitchen.” All of the products come in “passion red,” and everything—excluding the two-speed hand beater and range—is adorned with the company’s “100 year logo” and “hundreds of miniature hearts.”
Now this is a line we could fall in love with.
This Is the Most Popular KitchenAid Stand Mixer Color in the U.S.
With more of us spending more time in the kitchen cooking and baking, a stand mixer may be the perfect gift for a special someone on your nice list. But if you’re stumped on what color mixer will bring the brightest smile? Data from KitchenAid may be able to help.
KitchenAid recently conducted a survey trying to get to the bottom of that pressing (or maybe not all that pressing) issue. The “heat map” as they call it, reveals favorite stand mixer colors and the most popular holiday treats, state by state.

Shades of blue and green dominated the top spots, with Blue Velvet, which launched in 2018, as the most popular choice. 18 states voted for the soothing hue. Aqua Sky and Kyoto Glow came in second and third in the U.S., respectively. 10 states went for Aqua Sky, while eight states loved Kyoto Glow, a vibrant green that was named KitchenAid’s 2020 color of the year.
As for America’s favorite baked goods? Pie is a popular choice for many over the holiday, so it was no surprise that Apple Pie and Pumpkin Pie got top honors. 21 states chose Apple Pie and 10 chose Pumpkin Pie. However, one curve ball was Baklava, which came in third place, ahead of the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie, which came in fourth.
KitchenAid partnered with OnePoll for this survey, which polled 5,000 Americans (100 per state) from October 6 to 19, 2020.
KitchenAid Reveals Its 2020 Color of the Year
As any devoted Pinterester can tell you, many of us rely on KitchenAid mixers or blenders (OK, really the mixers) to add a pop of color to our sleek white or trendy two-toned kitchens. And, oh yes, to bake and cook.
But really, the iconic mixer is an appliance we use for everything – blending, mixing, whipping – and to bring a sense of style and personal expression to our serenely minimalist or defiantly maximalist homes.
The KitchenAid mixer, along with its equally colorful friend, the Le Creuset dutch oven, is a total signifier, a millennial “troph[y] of domesticity,” as The Atlantic recently put it.
Of course, these mixers are an investment and a commitment. Buyers expect them to last a while, so freaking out about what color to buy is a totally reasonable thing to do.
Now, that decision just got a little more complicated. Because KitchenAid has just announced its 2020 Color of the Year. And it is: Kyoto Glow. (What, you thought it was going to be blue?)

Caring for your stand mixer
According to the manufacturer, the best way to clean your machine is to follow these steps:
